Our first full day in California. We have a few things we wanted to see. The first was Malibu Lagoon State Beach. Heidi was here for part of her conference, so she wanted to show us.

It is always fun to look back and see Malibu as well.

At the beach, we saw all kinds of rocks, shells, sea urchins and dismembered crustaceans.

To me, the neatest part were all the surfers. It was a good day, high tide was a little after 11AM, the winds were calm. A lot of people found time for Monday surfing. I think there were at least 150 people in the water.

Here are a few videos of surfers riding waves...

Kai made this little sand creation.

After our packed lunch of peanut butter and jelly in Malibu, we headed off to the Museum of Illusion in Santa Monica.

It had a bunch of interesting illusions. Many of which you could put yourself in.

That's it for today, but one last thing...we did see the Bachelor Mansion - I had it mapped many years ago. You can't stop, but it is visible from the road going from Malibu to Agoura Hills (there are about 3 different ways over the Santa Monica Mountains to Agoura Hills)--- I'm showing the view from Google Streetview. Just funny to see it in person though.
